In psychological research couples were rated as looking more alike after 25 years of marriage than when they had married. This was because human beings mimic and imitate others and after 25 years of copying facial expressions and other behaviours of a loved one they looked more alike. They were also happier because they paid more attention to each other and shared the same emotional reactions to their many life events.
